No one can tell you what to do — it’s what your financial goals are that should dictate what you should do.
I personally max out my tax-advantaged accounts (roth IRA, mixed 401k) while I’m young because I know it will bring the most benefit if I do it now vs if I only start in 10 years. I don’t feel a need to keep that money liquid because I *also* contribute a decent portion (~10k/year) to traditional brokerage investments (ETF, mutual funds) as well as maintain my savings account.
TC 115k for context
Paying off my student loans
VTI. With the limited amount of time that I have available, I'm not even going to bother trying to devote the amount of attention to trading as it takes to have a shot at outperforming the total market.
Also maxing 401k and Ira, contribute slightly >50% of first paycheck of month to other personal portfolio. Forces my savings. The faster those account holdings build up the faster you can reap the benefits of compounding. Have nothing planned in the near term that I predict I need to be liquid for, but once that changes, I’ll just reduce the personal portfolio contributions.
Definitely no one size fits all in this arena
First year analyst. I max out ROTH & 401k and then try to invest an additional couple $100 per month into VTI or VOO.
Still travel a ton and am not down bad financially.

Add some gold/ silver miners as a hedge. Buy physical too. Even if the physical spot price goes down, the premiums will go up as a hedge

Definitely wouldn’t say you “should be” taking bigger financial risks. You could, but the risk-return trade off is really bad.
Retirement accounts can also be used to save for intermediate-term goals btw
Crypto is the answer duh
