Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

You handle it by boarding the plane in your assigned zone, napping/reading/working, then exiting the plane. Not that difficult.
Wash rinse repeat
Step 1 - check in
Step 2 - go through security. If confused, do what you’d do if you had status, but slower.
Step 3 - wait at gate, board when your group is called
Step 4 - board in group, sit in seat. If instructions unclear, imagine a normal chair that’s not on a plane
Step 5 - exit plane upon landing
That’s not just Deloitte. It’s any consultant. Source: I did this exchange challenge, called “the consultants challenge” with another firm
Delta is the best airline you can ask for if you have to fly with no status tbh.
What exactly do you hate about no status? They don’t whip or chain you, you don’t sit outside the plane, you get to carry your luggage, sit inside and put on your Bose headphones
It’s not United after all
You guys really didn’t disappoint. I guess I’ll just pinch my nose with all the plebs in steerage, and maybe ask for a seatbelt extender and clap when we land so they don’t recognize me as highborn.
Delta is the best airline. I’d rather fly basic economy delta with no status than American or united with status... delta has the best app, wifi on every plane that works well, very good in flight entertainment, and the friendliest flight attendants out of the big 3... delta is trying to make itself a premium brand
Completely agree. American is trash, they treat their passengers like cattle. Delta treats you like wagyu beef - still livestock but they serve you champagne
Ignore these plebs op. Delta actually recently changed their policy so if you don't have status and need to fly Delta you can either renounce your status on another airline or sacrifice a newborn baby. Consider yourself lucky
Agreed with c1, delta fo lyfe
Is this a legitimate question? You obviously have no real problems in your life (lucky you). Take a seat with the “plebs” for a change. You might learn something.
Get off your high horse. Flying with status is better and it sucks (relatively) to not have it.
You can ask for status match. It is pretty quick turn around
Deloitte has a corporate biz policy with delta so if you book through trips they give you a higher than normal zone (I forget what boarding class) it’s the one that CC holders get. Sorry I’m a UA,AA,SW person myself.
Delta just changed boarding zone naming convention. All "corporate travelers" get main-1 which is the same as CC holders.
Look at yourself carefully in the mirror and evaluate all the terrible life choices that have led you to this point
I also have to fly Delta this week. Not mad about it though, they’re an incredibly pleasant airline. When I went to switch my seat in the app it let me book Economy Plus because I work at PwC. Not a bad gig!
Suck it up OP - be thankful you have first world problems and that too problems of the first world elite population at best
Like nearly everyone else who flies....
Just buy up to delta comfort
Suck it up and prepare to be treated like a sub he man or non human. I have the same issue with United... it is awful, but whatcha going to do.
Check your roller bag. Take a bigger underseat bag with your essentials. It will be ok. (Had to do this a few weeks back when united through Houston wasn’t happening)
I don’t handle it bc I only fly with 1 airline. If I’m travelling every week then I want all of the benefits and to be able to use them for my own gain
Why do you have status on more than 2 airlines? Find two and stick to those ONLY!
I’m AA and SW, but I automatically get UA status from Marriott Elite Titanium Platinum Ambassador status, or whatever the hell it’s called now
