When you stop learning. When you stop having fun. When you feel you are stagnating.
Ask me!! How much I m hating monday
When you don’t care what project you are assigned because no matter what happens you resent how much time it takes you away from the people and things you love. When you spend every waking moment thinking of all the things you’d rather be doing than being at work. When “being challenged” at work no longer appeals to you because you don’t get to exercise, sleep, or socialize.
Hang in there, OP! Start interviewing for other jobs and see what interests you. I’m just hanging in for a milestone work anniversary and then I’m going to ✌🏼
When you’re not feeling motivated to be great anymore..
How many people read this and agreed?
When you’re depressed every Sunday night....

When you go onto this app asking how to get laid off.
So is half a year enough 😭
I feel you
When you wake up everyday and contemplating if you should call out sick.

When you start thinking it’s the right time to move on
When you don't feel motivated to be a top performer anymore. When the job doesn't align with what you want in your career.
The fact that you posted this question is sign enough that it’s time to move on.
Not necessarily I think a lot of people are genuinely curious as to what else is out there
Before your dissatisfaction seeps into other parts of your life
When you find the right outside opportunity. This is a great springboard job. Some springboard early in their consulting career. Others later.
A role where you get P and L responsibility
Follow up to all this- how do you know what to move on to next??
When you look down the client stairs and think you should research workers comp
When you stop growing in your job...
Learning something new should always be priority and fear of stagnation should be your #1 reason for leaving. However, there may be other circumstances that will force you to reconsider your position.
I normally take Directors or VPs leaving as a bad omen. Change at mid to high level executives might signal a change in ethos. I may not like the new flavour of management or their policies. Time to move on.
On the other hand I treat exits that are one or two levels above me as opportunity and stick on.
Maybe naive but this has worked well so far.
Right time is now, always
BA1 - 6 months isn’t very long unless there are extenuating circumstances driving you to leave. Is this your first job/project post-college? What’s the situation that has you dissatisfied ?
Just a joke honestly
