I don't watch those YouTubers and in COVID times I'm not influenced by coworkers either. I do like to look good and my luxury buys help me feel like a successful & confident woman 🤑
Wow I love the way you see it!!! 😳
I always thought I’m still young (I’m 25) and have time to invest more later. I can’t recall how many times I thought— if I just got this one thing I really really wanted right now, I’d be so happy and stop all this “treat myself”, and finally put my cash to work. Just endless desires, you know. My SO saw how much I spent on a crocodile bag and he asked, what’s next? Human skin? 🥴
Another year is coming to an end, I just made another purchase (that I did think hard and long about), but it also hit me... my overall life quality hasn’t changed, and won’t with my new bag. Your perspective is very helpful and much appreciated
The YouTube unboxing videos make me gag. People bragging about their luxury purchases via Internet video is quite possibly the most narcissistic thing I’ve seen. But enough about that! 😂
Luxury handbags are my thing. I’ve always appreciated the quality, construction, and architecture that comes with designer handbags. It’s not a status thing for me. I’d compare it to an appreciation for fine art or wine. I definitely am not flashy with my bags, either. I invest in timeless, classic pieces that I’ll love today and years from now (and take care of them properly so that I can). I’m a firm believer in quality over quantity, so I’d rather have 5 designer bags I love and use than 30+ mediocre bags.
Ironically enough, the thing that got me into debt/not saving was buying fast fashion. Once I started investing in quality pieces, I started spending less because I was more satisfied with my wardrobe, and felt like it really reflected me and my needs.
That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing :)
My colleagues usually don’t flaunt any big labels and I wouldn’t feel comfortable using a luxury handbag for work. That said, I only own 3 luxury handbags and only use them outside of work if I’m meeting up with friends or going out (not to, say, the grocery store during a pandemic or sketchy area).
I don’t feel like I need a closet full of luxury handbags or shoes — even though i do enjoy watching closet tours or luxury shoe/handbag collection videos on YouTube — plus I don’t have that kind of space.
Sure!
1. Chanel Jumbo Classic Flap, black caviar leather, gold hardware
2. Chanel Medium/Large Classic Flap, black caviar leather, gold hardware (I know, so similar to #1, but more practical - relatively speaking - in terms of size)
3. Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM in Damier Azure
I saw one of the YouTubers that gloats...and doesn’t live in a gated community get robbed. Most all their luxury items were stolen in minutes. I think it’s silly. I don’t broadcast outside of my circles what items I have. It gets you nowhere.
