How do you navigate the holidays, with or without kids? I tend to be pretty busy over the next 3-4 months and I always try to make as much time for family as I can, but it seems like it's never enough. My mother in law is pretty old fashioned and I can tell she thinks it's wrong that some nights I'm home late during the holiday season or when I work in downtimes during family holidays. My partner is incredibly supportive but I still feel some guilt over it.

I have a friend who told me he sought treatment for alcohol abuse 6 mo ago. We talk a lot and I try not to judge or ask too many questions about his progress, just wanting to be a supportive friend who doesn’t pressure him. Today I brought him to a very laid back picnic… there was drinking but plenty of non-alcoholic alternatives, and it was a very chill group. Toward the end of the day I noticed him drink something. Should I have confronted and stopped him? Should I bring it up now? Guilty now

Have you felt the below, how did you overcome (apart from leaving!) Exhausted or demotivated, took a vacation to come back fresh. But post joining did not find work interesting anymore. All seems to boring and losing interest

Does anyone in this group have ADHD? Are you finding that working in a law firm setting and billing hours is just not something they can do or is it possible with the proper medication and therapy?

I don’t cut my hours, I consistently reach 7 hours a day, but it’s not enough to meet my firm’s minimum requirement. I’m usually working 9 hours/day.

Been seeing a guy for a few months now and I can’t stop myself from getting in my head. I’ve never been in a solid relationship before like this and I’m afraid I’m going to mess it up. We’re together most nights and some nights I need a night off or some space, but when I don’t hear from him I get paranoid that I did something.

People that have small children - how do you deal with your child’s stress and separation anxiety when you go to work? My 4-year old goes berserk almost every day at some point relating to me having to work. The worst part is that I’ve been working from home bc of Covid and I’m literally just walking upstairs after giving hugs and kisses and saying see you soon 800 times. My spouse is a stay at home parent, but that doesn’t seem to matter to my son. A piece of me dies everyday because of this.

I have 2 kids and a family vacation for 4 people for a week easily comes to a min of 5k -6k (flight, car, hotel, eating out every day, entertainment tickets) and if we end up taking 2-3 vacations per year, it costs about 15-20k.
