In North America - if you start as an associate with 5 YE + MBA or PhD from a top school or Masters + 2 - 4 years of work ex AND have a perfect record - no blips, great sponsors , no bad luck and talent - then you can make partner in 5.5 - 6 years

I don’t think you understand the BCG model very well. MDP, with 7 figure comp and equity (just like McK) and a full vote (unlike McK) comes 6.5-8 years post MBA. “Partner” is only a 1-2 year role within that. On average, I’d guess we’re 6-12 months slower than McK to the equity role. Hardly an ocean.

Yes, MDPs have revenue targets (which are confidential). The most relevant is a three-year rolling average, and for your first three years, your sponsoring Sr. MDP team is responsible for making sure you have a book of business. in practice, that means it is pretty hard to be sure of the door in the first 2-3 years.
Just to clarify for OW, yes some take 5 years to reach partner, but the average time spent at Principal is ~3yrs
What are the drivers for making partner at McKinsey or BCG? Is it owning accounts and a big book of business? 6 years sounds like very short time for being able to meet these, sounds efficient
