It is the same process as pulling your tooth. Painful but worth it
Thanks! So you would not tell your current employer about the new job until the request to switch employers is approved?
It's pretty easy. You just need to get an H1B transfer and can start working for the new employer immediately after the transfer application is filed. Just make sure that you have =>3 years on your total H1B period coz the new employer may be more hesitant to do the transfer if you don't have that much time left
I dnt agree with GT1 on one point. One can technically start working with new employer as soon as h1 transfer is filed by new emp. However, it is NOT suggestible to do so. Wait until you get acceptance. I was given RFE and my application was approved after morethan 2 months. If I had resigned soon after filing, my old employer would have cancelled old h1 by the time my new h1 would have been approved. So in nutshell, wait until your transfer app is approved.
@pwc1: I didn't stay that it's advisable to do that. It's always prudent to be risk averse and wait till your transfer is complete
^^ Ah!! somehow I did not read in that way. May be my bad.
Yup, just give them the standard 2 week notice after your transfer is approved
