I am in sixth year at a top firm in Toronto. I’m considering lateraling to another firm that does very similar work to what I’m currently doing, essentially because I strongly dislike the culture at my current firm. If you have lateraled for a culture-related issue, what do you wish you had asked before signing? Do you think there is a way to truly suss out culture before working somewhere? My fiancé’s family has a vacation planned at the end of June in Florida (small beach town about 45 mins from PCB). We’d be flying from California if we decide to attend. I am H1B and I’ve started my GC process. my husband is also on H1B but won’t get his GC sponsored until his next job. What happens if he has started the GC process but by then his H1B had run out? Can he still work while it’s pending with an application for EAD? Can he work as H4 under my H1B till I get my GC issued?
