I’ve never posted pitch work before. IMO you’re better off keeping those ideas in your back pocket and recycling in the future for another client.
You wait until it’s been formally announced and the campaign is out in the world. Or if it’s never going to see the light of day, do it on a locked down page with a password. Depending on your contract the agency likely owns the work and can send you a cease and desist if they don’t want it out.
People do this?
I’ve never posted pitch work, it’s pretty discouraged, even if you do win the work. Plus pitches are like a whole art and they really do recycle some of the concepts.
I wouldn’t think twice if someone showed me pitch work in their book. And sometimes it’s been for biz I pitched too and I’m just like, “cool, was this your concept?”. The only risk is if I pitched it and am close to the strategy (or what my agency taught me was the strategy) and judge your work more harshly bc of that. My motto is ‘Put your best work in your book’. That’s it. Whether it’s a comp, a pitch, whatever. Password protect it. Use what you’ve done to sell yourself—that’s what it’s all about, right?
There's a pitch I worked on that I didn't say the client name but said the industry which worked for me. It's nice to have it up, I get compliments on the idea regularly and some freelance requests every so often
Anyone here ever posted Coca Cola work?
Asking for a friend ofc.
