11 holidays in addition to the last week of December (not guaranteed but have been the case in recent years)
Nobody really pays much attention to how much PTO you take as long as utilization is reasonable. Utilization is a hard and fast number; the only special case is LOA or sabbatical (which remove hours from the denominator). On most projects, you bill 9hrs a day. Sum that up for the performance year and divide by 2080 (or pro-rated if you started during the performance year or went on LOA by 40 hours per week). Except for the previously mentioned exception, that’s your utilization. PRD never counts - only client or firm funded projects with dollars behind their codes. The performance period start is the later of (i) the first day of the second week of March (most years) or (ii) your start date. The performance period end is the end of the first week in March (most years). No one gets bonus points for high utilization; we do strongly question low utilization (though, if there’s a credible story, it doesn’t negatively impact anyone). You’re welcome
PTO rules must’ve changed for new hires at some point...I got 25 days + 10 holidays when I started and it bumped up to 30 days when I made M. Always been able to carry forward all of it for 1 year. As others have pointed out, the last week in December has been an added week of flex holidays the past few years.
