I’m approaching a transfer and my goal is to wait until the blood test. I’ve heard plenty of stories about incorrect results in at-home tests and I want to avoid the emotional mess. I will try to keep myself as busy as possible though during the waiting period.
Good luck!! Hope it all goes smoothly. I’m at day 4PT
The night before the test
My first transfer, I tested before. It was negative. My second transfer, I waited for the blood test. I’m glad I waited.
I’ve had 4 transfers and tested before each time at home, just to hear the news in a controllable way and not from a nurse just getting through a to-do list
Makes sense! I did not test but just because they called me from the clinic before i managed to do the test (got busy w/work)
But was planning to test the morning of when they were to call me

I waited about 5 days and then peed on a stick. I knew it’d be too early to really be definitive in any way, but I wanted to find out on my own terms, not on a phone call that could come at any time of the day.
I’ve also heard that testing too early can be a false positive bc there’s HCG from trigger shot but that was for IUI, not sure if that’s the case for IVF?

I waited until the blood test

Also, my sister in law got negative on her home pregnancy test at 9dpp and a lowish HCG at blood test (95) and then went on to have the baby
After her experience and turmoil i decided not to test and to have blood test tell me more definitively
I waited until the day before the blood test to test at home. I was planning to wait until the morning of the blood test (I didn’t like the idea of getting bad news over the phone with no emotional preparation ahead of time). But the day before the blood test, my resting heart rate had jumped 5 bpm overnight and I thought I might just be pregnant. Turns out I was! Best of luck.
I think mine went from 55 bpm to 60 bpm overnight. No sneaking up, just BAM - 5 bpm in one night for no discernible reason other than I was 9 days post transfer.
I have never peed on a pregnancy test stick! I'm 7 weeks along with my second... I guess time is running out. This time I had a trigger shot as part of my protocol so I definitely wasn't going to do it.
I tested starting at 4 days, and did two tests a day until my blood test. Saw a very faint line at 4 and watched it grow darker. But I did not have the HCG trigger shot, would not have tested if that was the case.
Was yours already hatching when it was implanted? 4 is quite early to see anything. I’m day 5 and tryinggg to hold out but not doing great over here lol
I’m 5dpt today and am having the same dilemma, don’t want to find out when they call me if it’s bad news. I might test in the next few days
Waited for the blood test. I knew I couldn’t take the heartbreak and stress from false negatives (or real negatives). I took the day off that I got results, because I knew I’d be super emotional about it whatever the outcome.
I definitely did absolutely whatever to keep myself distracted. I saved up all the new Netflix shows that I wanted to watch, did all my hobbies, went out and spent time with friends, absolutely whatever to make the time go.
