How many people do you "assist"? In the past, I've only ever been the Assistant to one person, but this new job has me working for four executives.

I support our MD. However, on top of that I do absolutely everything else in the office, including managing the H&S system, creating risk assessments for events etc. I'm a fire warden and first aider. I support on new business, book taxis for people, arrange passes for visitors etc etc. Manage meeting rooms/catering etc. Support with marketing. My role has expanded continuously with no discussion!

This is how they save money. They have one person do multiple jobs. That is why I always ask for more a year, if I’m interviewing for a position because job descriptions change all the time; and at least your getting paid for it.

3 pax ( CFO, CHRO, VP)
My peer's EA supporting 4 (CFO, MD Sales, VP Sales Ops, and Legal Counsel )
So yeah, it's commonly now to support more than 1 pax. Gone are the days for 1 : 1 supporting.

I miss it so much haaa

I have two managers I report to. That often feels like a lot for me. I can't imagine reporting to four managers. Do you have time to breathe?

Currently 3 big execs and another 7 low level who really just want help with expenses.

I had 5 execs at my last job. 1 high level and the rest were lower level. My current job I support the whole group along with one other person. It’s like 225 people but I’m doing more project and client based work vs calendar/ expenses/ travel etc. so it is very different.

I got a job as a infrastructure consultant right out of college 3 years ago and later became a solutions architect at the company I am at now. I have a degree in CS and never really got the chance to use my programming skills (Java, python, Springboot framework). I’m finding that I’m not really in to platform engineering or cloud infrastructure and would like to pivot to software/app development. And suggestions on where I could get started on making this transition?

I’m sure others have considered this, I really feel burned out on my specific subspecialty. For the most part I do interventional pain management. I am midway through my career, but I cannot in anyway see doing this for the future, it just doesn’t feel like I’m making a difference. I’m honored to be a physician and to help a handful of people, but any suggestions on changing specialties mid life? I have perhaps 15 to 20 years yet to practice.. Hello, after doing some research I believe I’m being underpaid. About 4 months ago HR did a market analysis for my role. They bumped my salary for about $2k. I’m a mid-level Executive assistant with 6 years of experience and currently supporting 5 executives at a fortune 50 company. One C level and 4 Vice Presidents. I’m currently making $61,000 with bonus included. Based on my research I should at least be making $71,400. I have a check in with my boss tomorrow and I am asking for a raise.

Bain is hiring for EA and MA roles in The US. If you’re serious about applying please reach out I’m happy to refer qualified candidates.

manager assistants are 100 percent remote while executive assistant roles are expected to be mapped to a local office. MAs support six senior managers or associate partners while EAs support 3 partners. MAs should have 1-3 years experience to apply and EAs should have 3-5 or more.

Need some feedback! So I was forced to move jobs about 6 months ago due to reorg and the new leader opting to bring their existing EA with them, without even meeting me. If stayed at the company but accepted an offer for a job outside of the department I was in. I’ve now been asked by a manager from my old department to apply for a job they’re opening that would be a 2 step promotion. She thought she got my managers permission to approach me (see comments)

Hi Everyone, I’m looking for advice. Right now I’m currently facing a hard decision. Do you find working remotely during this time that you’re having a harder time staying on top of everything that’s going on? What are some of your tactics to avoid missed items and stay active and on top of everything through the Covid funk?
