Bain & Company Is anyone else getting their application to Bain & Company pushed backed?
As of yesterday, even though I applied in May, and that while they liked my application, they will not be considering me till early 2023.
This is the second time they pushed back their consideration... 😞

FWIW I’ve found most folks to be quite warm and open and I’m definitely more on the friendly & casual side!!
Honestly you’ll have to read the interviewer. Some want to see the candidates personality. I’ve also had interviewers who were very straightforward and probably appreciated talking to candidates with a straight face and having to the point conversations
This - read your interviewer and act accordingly
I’d avoid the 1st option.
Be careful not to exaggerate on the second.
Best advice is it depends. You are going to have to adapt based on the interviewer.
Just remember no one likes someone that is cold.
Please be yourself. It will help you land in the right spot and the firm make the right call. I realize there’s benefit to landing the job and then finding your tribe, but fake is either painfully transparent or, potentially, self-defeating.
I got an offer in their second attempt, but reached final round both times. First time around, I was more reserved and “deliberate” in my final round and did not get an offer. Second time I let myself be and just focused on delivering the case and PEI as well as I could. This reflected strongly in my rapport with my interviewers and definitely helped me secure an offer.
I'd lean more towards being your natural self. My best conversations during interviews were about shared interests between the interviewer and me and it played a huge role in my decision to join McK. Heck, one of my interview stories was about learning to cook pie while abroad.

Following! I was asking myself the same question - I was myself during the initial screening with the recruiter and received amazing feedback. However this was just the screening and the recruiter has no say in whether i'm getting the offer or not. So i'm wondering the same thing as you

Former mck interviewer told me this: they want to see you exhibit good energy and friendliness. Don’t go over the top but don’t be too cold either
I was definitely myself in the interviews - high energy, enthusiastic, and threw in a couple jokes (be very very careful with humor though) - got an offer
Just got an offer - be yourself. Be warm-hearted and keep it conversational.
