Hello everyone! I'm looking for an entry level Product Manager role at a Tech company. Currently I'm working at Cognizant as a Programmer Analyst Trainee Intern and will be graduating next month with a major in Computer Science. If there's any opening for Associate Product Manager in your org., please let me know!
I've been a team lead for multiple national level hackathons, built UX Designs, wrote PRDs, and learning more about PM.
I will be happy to share my resume. Microsoft Amazon Coinbase
At Amazon, what is the difference between a Program Manager and Technical Program Manager? It looks like the Technical one gets paid about 25% more but not sure what roles/responsibilities they do differently. Amazon
Also how technical a background does someone need for a Technical Program Manager role?
How’s work life balance in forensics?
Where can I get a Tux? Nothing too crazy <$1500

29 1M in net assets. (1.2 in real estate, 160k in stocks, 45k retirement) I’d recommend 2 things if I could talk to my past self. 1 take on a riskier job. I was working off commission for awhile. 2, cash in the bank is a depreciation asset. If you live in a place you can use that cash for maybe a house hack or something (Google it) may help you get where you want to go. Also, this may be wrong and is not financial advice, but I feel our generation will retire when our secondary income covers primary. 401k and SS will not cover much. Ss will be gone.
Typically it will require you to be out there. House hacking is still an option in California.
I am 41 and married (with 2 kids), my wife makes as much as I do. We have an aptmt ~350k full paid, a house with 500k equity, investment portfolio 200k, 300k in 401k of mine and similar for my wife, and about 200k cash. We lived well below are means and working together to make and save. I have about 50k when I was 29, no loans. I think you are at a good path.
You guys are killing it! Awesome to hear.
It is so great that you are thinking about this. Money saved and invested early has the huge advantage of time to grow. Unfortunately so many people don't have this mindset at your age. Keep up the good work.
It’s all about what is your end goal! $25k could be more than enough or too low, but it you’re just saving to save you’re still doing well.
27, 10k savings, 14k traditional 401k, 150k crypto (welp)
I live in Greece and any young person here who is able to save is usually either incredibly determined and skilled or lucky enough to own/ have parents with a business etc.
I don't know anyone other than me who has saved over 10k after years of working (I'm 26). The only reason I am able to do that is because I worked for foreign companies.
I don't understand why anyone would feel behind when you're better off than 95% of their peers in some parts of the world.
31M with 3 kids. have saved maybe like - 35k - mostly in stocks. Own home and the amount of equity in that is maybe 200k. Your best bet is to put your cash into real estate. That was the case for me at least. Look up house hacking. Rates might be high now but you can always refinance later. Or keep saving and wait till rates come down a bit. Either way, as a first time home buyer you don’t need 20% down. I did 5% and within 12 months was able to drop the PMI by getting a broker price opinion. Just make sure to go conventional not FHA. That way you can drop the PMI once you have enough equity. I wish I could rent out my house now and buy a new one and just keep accumulating properties. That’s what I’d do if I were you. I can’t because I can’t uproot my kids lives like that every 2 years lol moving with young kids is so hard, and not good for them mentally. Might do it one time once they’re all a bit older. But stay in the same neighborhood.
32, NW is 270k. Most of my money is invested in index funds. LCOL area, and I have saved diligently. I've been in the workforce for 5.5 years. I want to quit corporate life soon and that's my biggest motivator.
Retirement or other investments don’t count cause that’s being forced money taken out of my account lol
But real hard cash/deposits that I willingly put into a Savings like 22k
I’m 25 and I have 10k in debt, no savings whatsoever, also no parents since 17 so yeah that’s a big factor for all these millionaire kids.
Chemistry
My daughter of the same age has roughly 60k saved via 401(k) and liquid cash in a standard savings account. To be fair, she doesn't own a car, uses public transportation, and doesn't eat out or go out drinking/clubbing very often. She prefers to save her money for travel - which I realize can be rare at her age. She did not get her "saving gene" from me, sadly.
