How much of a difference in acceptance rates between applying round 1 vs round 2 as a consultant?

I just started with a company as an HR Generalist. Within the 3 weeks of being there, my boss’s boss left, and today I found out my boss gave notice. HR is not valued at the company and it’s disheartening to know I was hired into a mess. I think it's common to choose Stanford over Wharton. However, Wharton has one of the largest alumni bases (99,000+ throughout the US) while Stanford is smaller (20,000, concentrated on the West Coast)
