I think they're pretty accurate imo
^Negative. However I can tell you they are way off for cyber professionals.
something a competitor would say...
I agree with both of D1's assessments, and I will echo that they are absolutely off the mark for cyber professionals.
My take is that whatever algorithm Glassdoor uses may work better for certain jobs vs. others. It's truly a blunt instrument. Industry comp surveys and salary.com still the "gold standard."
But sounds like no-one is denying the fact that I seem to be underpaid.
What is senior director? We only have director titles. Sounds like fake news.
Not that accurate imo. I prefer to use sites like salary.com.
D1 sounds like he works for glassdoor competitor
You definitely seem to be underpaid.
A year away from MD. Yes you are way under paid
K2 - the word senior is to explain an equivalence to other consulting companies. For us at K, I'm just a director.
I think Glassdoor is pretty accurate but you can run into more variance the further along you get in your career I would think.
Yikes. Data point, I'm a M4 about to be Director in Oct. I'm at 167 (mid Atlantic). I'll report in my new base in a month.
In my experience it's pretty accurate and you can expect maybe up to a 10% deviation from the average listed. However, I think most places would try and cap salary jumps to a ceiling percentage (e.g. 20%) if they know what you currently make. I wouldn't expect a huge raise if you're underpaid and they feel like they've been able to keep you loyal for less which is what you've shown them up to this point. However, I would ask for target bonus %s and see how variable comp is with sales
Not accurate..very skewed
If what you're saying is true..you're probably in risk consulting..
K1: what team is that? I get paid less than that and am wrapping my first year as Director in MC. Trying to figure out if it's just me that's screwed or all of Tech enablement or what
Unfortunately, stating my group may make it obvious who i am, to someone from my practice. So...
I don’t believe their all that accurate unless you have more information to compare to. I’m federal and I can tell you my salary (and those of a lot of my coworkers at the same level) is not as high as those listed on Glass Door - fairly sure most of those salaries are for commercial folks
