How to justify switching within big 4 during an interview? Same function just different company

Crushed my final two interviews today. I will hear back sometime next week for a verbal offer for a Tech Solutions Consultant on the xWS team. Leaning towards an L4 but maybe they give L5 if the interview feedback was as good as I thought it went. Any thoughts on how I should negotiate base and equity? Maybe ask for sign on too?

A question from a youngster. Is working at a big big company with slightly low pay better or working at a much smaller company with higher pay better?

In the future, after a few years, let’s say I’m at a small company and want to switch to big big company, will the “small names” hurt my chance to get into the big doors?

I mean big big company is like 10x bigger than the small one if this was a factor. Assume everything else the same, WLB, commute, teams, etc.

I was a basis admin for validation team for 6 years and then I have been working as a product owner in automating implementations and other activities in ECS. I’m a former forensic scientist that left the field several years ago. I recently received a subpoena from a case I worked and suggested to DA to have evidence re-worked by the lab or stipulation. If I am required to testify (as an expert witness), I would need to book a flight, hotel, etc. My question is this: can I ask for my requested hourly rate, travel, and hotel to be covered when speaking with DA or is that “not how this works” as the investigator put it?
