Ok so, first thing, so many people are really terrible at interviewing and it has nothing to do with you. So don’t beat yourself up about it! You can work on specific things you get feedback on, but there’s not much you can do about someone who walks in unprepared/bored.
If someone misinterprets you, you can absolutely take the time to go back to the point and clarify what you mean.
It’s good practice since this will happen to you at work all the time once you get the job. “Before we move on to the next question, I just want to clarify...” stuff like that can steer the convo in the way that you want.
Second thing, it’s totally normal to be nervous, it means that you care! Try practicing common questions you’ve gotten with a friend or in front of a mirror, anything to help you have some answers on hand when your brain goes into nervous autopilot. It gets easier the more you have these conversations, I swear. 👍good luck!
