Ignore Freelance 1. Unless you have a legit case for wrongful termination, there’s zero negotiation in advertising once you’re laid off
The only negotiation you can do is before you sign on as a new hire, BUT those pre-negotiation severance contracts are normally only reserved only for leadership levels like GCD, ECD, and above. Not ACD or even CD level.
Anything lower in title is stuck with the normal insulting 2 - 4 week severance BS.
You don’t negotiate severance as a new hire, that seems a bit paranoid and would raise a red flag for me. The time to negotiate is when you’re getting laid off and hopefully that won’t happen.
Don’t invite that kind of bad luck into your life by asking about it during salary negotiations. It’s like getting married and asking about alimony payments during the nuptials.
No it isn’t. It like signing a pre-nup which can be a smart move depending on the pre-marriage finances.
