McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

Not necessarily. I made it to the final round, and while “everyone loved me” they passed on me. Have options.
Have options. They do.

Yes. CCO only meets the preferred candidate(s).
Telling myself this this week too, good luck OP
A lot of CCO’s use interviews to gauge their own people’s judgement of talent and are surprised to find just how disconnected their own taste can be from those under them. Sincerely though, best of luck! Nail this.
Makes sense! Appreciate the insight and luck!
You’re hired except let me clear it with the CFO.

Every single round you advance, increases your odds. The CCO is likely the last round. No guarantees, as there’s likely a couple other candidates who are also well qualified. But the odds are definitely 1/3 or 1/4.
You’re 1 of 2 or 3.
Keep it up, but don’t expect it. You gotta fight for the right to parrrrrrrtayyyyy

One of my former colleagues had an interview with the president of an agency and they ghosted. But it’s in theory a great sign. Good luck, OP!
Appreciate it! 🙏
I made it to the CCO, he loved me but the AD thought the other writer was a better fit because they went to the same college. So I didnt get it.
My first and final interviewee is the CCO.
What if it’s to your potential partner?
What do you think it’s the main factor these days, your book? Budget? Personality? Overall fit?

All of those and your reputation. People remember who was lazy, talentless, hard to work with and entitled.
Absolutely.
Well I spoke to two CCOs and both didn’t get back to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It means you’re doing something right. A lot right. But it doesn’t mean you’ve got the job. You only have the job after the pay check clears.
0 for 4 on CCO meetings. I like to blame my O1 visa, couldn’t possibly be a “me thing”.
In all seriousness, I would say yes, but also, don’t get ahead of yourself, that can cause the most disappointment. I’ve been told 3 or 4 times I was a sure thing, everybody loved you etc and then…see above
