I accepted a job offer within industry and upon starting the job this week, I’ve realized that the recruiter heavily lied to me about this job as did the interviewers… I’m in a pickle since I need a job but I have no idea what to do in this job since it’s in such a niche area of tax. I’m afraid it will pigeon hole me. I normally dealt with flow throughs and corporations in pe/technology. This role is in qualified opportunity zones. What do I do?

What’s an appropriate comp package for an institutional investment management company in San Francisco? Interviewing for an associate director role and trying to understand salary.

I was approached on LinkedIn for an early career recruiting role in DFW, TX. I don't have direct experience, but I have the university experience/connections from working in career services. This is the first time I've considered work outside of higher education. I said my salary expectations are minimum $90k and that didn't seem to be an issue. Am I asking too little, too much? How can I know I'm getting the best salary and not just settling at the low end of the range?

It’s hard to trust the partners/leadership when they want us to return to office as being better when we increase offshoring? Also, the pressure on billable hours when all that really matters is how much our fixed labor costs vs. how much we can bill (which is usually fixed fee or at least a range) and the fixed labor costs of offshoring is significantly cheaper so the hours don’t matter. Am I mistaken by this viewpoint?
