I got an interview for Contract - Audit Manager (Remote) role for EY. Are the interviews done remotely or does EY require interviewees to come into the office for interviews?
Just trying to manage my plan as I am currently traveling and the interview came up as an unexpected opportunity.
Thank you!

Yes, literally millions of people have jobs where they’re required to go in 4 or 5 days per week.
You work for the most conservative employer on the planet, of course they are going to be slow adopting this trend. Beyond the fact that there are actual reasons why telework in the DoD can be hard (are you going to run SIPR drops into your house?) there’s the reality that the government generally and the DoD specifically is a facetime culture.
Family isn’t just the people at your home, but the people in your unit.
I’m mostly WFH and that’s great for me, but there’s been times where I’ve been traveling 20+ days per month. We sign up for our jobs and accept their rules. We don’t sign on the dotted line and expect them to cater to our desires.
Brother the easiest way to adjust your WFH hours is to get out of the military/DoD

Im going to say this as nicely as possible - no one, and I mean no one, in DoD cares one bit about the opinion of a brand new 25 year old. There are 3.3m people in DoD. Many of us have been doing this for DECADES. Im at 36 years and Im a "young one" in my office.
If you want to do telework, find another job. And that can be in DoD because there are plenty of people doing full time WFH in DoD. But apparently not your job. There is probably a reason for that. If you dont know or understand the reasons why you are on a 4/1 schedule, I encourage you to learn them. Or go elsewhere. No one is going to rend their garments when you leave.
My husband has security clearances that require him to be in the office (eg running tests in the lab). For his line of work, it will never be a fully remote job and all his colleagues understand this. It’s just the way it is for some profession.
I was going to post the same feedback for the OP. If their project requires access to classified data or information, it's VERY likely you will be required to work on site.

Not me but my SO is in the office 5 days a week. No wfh allowed.

Remote work doesn’t automatically mean a good WLB. At my last job was working 14 hour days fully remote and would gladly have switched to 5 days in office if it meant only a 40 hour week.
It better to be in office, instead of getting fired over zoom. Everyone is replaceable. Just like they can fire you, you can also fire your employer and find another job suitable for your lifestyle. Stop complaining.
Someone will replace you. There will always be another person willing to do a job you don't like.
I’m a DOD contractor and started in the height of Covid 2 years ago. I’m 100% WFH except for the occasional meeting or renewing my badge. It will likely stay that way according to my PM. I also don’t actively work on anything classified.

At the end of the day a lot of companies are wanting their employees back and some are ok with them being fully remote. You will not change managements decision on how they allow their employees to work so it is best to find a company that aligns with your values and allows you to have a good work/ life balance.
A company I worked for was extremely pro office. Management was allowed to work from home 3 days a week.
If it makes you feel any better I’m in Texas and have been going in to the office five days a week for the past year.
The DOD probably has unique work from home security concerns. To be frank, unless Government IT is encrypting home WiFi networks, I’m surprised WFH is allowed at all.
From a cyber liability perspective l, 99.9% of employers lack baseline security for employees using home internet for company business. My employer included!
I think you’re giving way too much credit to corporate America. I work for a F500. No VPN. I do legal work on my personal iPad off my out the box router. Cyber liability insurance is extremely tough to procure as it is. Wait until the WFH claims start to pour in…
If you are DoD, you are probably working with classified materials. This means mostly in office / on site. No?
I have to go into the office 5 days a week, zero option to work from home. If you don’t like the structure at your job I’d suggest finding a new one that suits your needs.
This reminds me of the whole lead up to Y2K. Same "this day and age" argument then. Everyone tries that and it works for a time and then suddenly the market shifts and reverts to the mean. If you take the job, do the work. Don't like it? Move on.

4 days in-person = quit

You have to pay someone like triple in order to get them to come into the office
No you don't...start laying off ppl over zoom and they will wish they were in the office... ppl just need to stop complaining..if you don't like your job move some where else or start your own business. Something simple as mowing lawns.
I'm in the corporate world and still the requirement is to be 4 days a week in the office. Between September and December 2021 we were required to be there 5 days a week, now they allow a bit more flexibility. In our case it's due to taxation.
