Kpmg started fresh undergrads in MC at some locations with this pay scale a couple of years ago! Most of the folks who started at that time got pretty good raises (although still on the lower end) ! Anyhow K pays least among the big4 so this shouldn't be a surprise.

I know. The chick they have in hr is a master tho. She didn't crack at all. I even had another offer to compare it too. If anyone is looking for an associate "holla!"

You are making 55k because you don't ask insightful questions.

like

What practice ? Youre def not in consulting ...

like

OP what school did you go to? You got ripped off. Starting salary for undergrad in consulting is 70$ I believe.

like

Wtf KPMG pays poverty

like

No, that's what audit/tax people make. Are you sure you belong here?

like

55K is what deloitte starts their tax/audit folks at. Source: tax/audit folks.

like

If this is your first job out of undergrad and you just joined MC then 55k sounds within reason.

like

70k*

Maybe firms are realizing we are all overpaid especially coming out of college. Doubtful though

like

K1, note that OW1 didnt say he took the offer at KPMG

like

Started at 82k this year. You're getting ripped off

like

@OP, if you want to have a salary conversation, do it mid-year rather than at year-end. Also, make sure that you can back up your reasoning for higher pay.

like

Should also apply to other firms. Might get more in return then waiting until next year...

like

Well for instance salary is driven by a number of factors, years at the firm, years of experience, location, practice area, etc.

like

Damn Ow you got ripped off too. @OP I made 68k starting 2 years ago and am now at 87k. What school did you go to?

like

Location!? Started as an analyst out of college at 85k in SF. Friend in Chicago w/ACN started at 75k

like

@k2 I started at 70

like

My first job out of undergrad was B4 audit, 6 years ago at 56k....you are severely underpaid OP

like

Nice to know I'm not the lowest paid MC associate. We both got screwed OP

Need some career advice. I’m currently a Salesforce consultant in healthcare, looking to pivot to work within the political sphere - specifically social impact/policy. I’m passionate about driving societal change, and have struggled to feel like I can do so in my current role. Healthcare is also not of particular interest to me. What are some possible routes I can take from here? And/or specific companies I should look into?

Ex-Big 4 folks at MBB: how has the experience been for you so far? Any of you been in a situation where you’re coming to a MBB in a lower role but have excelled in moving up quickly? (Or not.) Thinking about making the leap but would love to hear if the MBB hype was worth it. (FWIW: My work hours are 65-80/wk so I’m pressed to think it’ll be that much worse on the other side.)

Looking for advice. Joined my current firm few months back (6 to be precise). When I joined I was put into a internal role as a lead. I work with 2 SMs having 2 diff goals. In due time I showed interest into taking up the role of one SM as a career progression since he is moving out. But to my surprise the outgoing SM supported the other leads for that role internally but on face value supported me. I am from consulting and for the past few weeks I expressed interest to my career coach contd.

I’ve learned recently about some traumatic events that family members of mine have gone through but I had no idea had occurred. Besides my parents divorcing I really have not experienced that many hardships or trauma in my life.
