I have been an RN for 2 yrs and 6 m now. I started my nursing in the sub acute unit of a hospital, it was ok i didnt mind it. Right away they made me one of 3 charge nurses and I felt the pressure but I was ok. Switched to outpt GI setting and loved it the only thing I didnt like was not being home with my kids since it was mon-Fri because we were short staffed I would do 10 hr days at times. decided to apply for bedside medsurg. constant anxiety attacks now hate being an RN. At the moment I am ok, but I feel like I could do more for my two General Managers if I didn’t have to general office and staff management like onboarding.

The teams are: 1 General Manager is a team of 23 people all based in the same state. The other is a team of 40 people (75% based in same state, 25% based in another state.

Does anyone else struggle when communicating with their exec? Mine is someone who you need to ask lots of questions to because they change their minds every second but then they don’t respond when I ask. I’ve tried to have daily catch ups but they’re always cancelled and I just feel so unmotivated, like no matter what I can’t do a good job, so why even bother? It’s so hard to be a good EA when you can’t make decisions on your own.

I’ve recently started work at a very young tech startup. Coming from a big law background, this was a huge change of pace/environment. I’m having a lot of trouble getting used to how unstructured the startup is. It feels like hire ups give a set of instructions then talk as if they don’t remember, or then decided rules A, B, C and D applies without being clear this was the case. Is this just the general startup environment? If you experienced this before, how did you deal with It?
