leaving US, VISA issues

I am an SC on L1 B individual visa (valid until 2021 without any extension). Up for manager this year, will know in 2 weeks. Transferring to USA firm this year. What is the process, timeline for GC?

Depends which country you were born in. There is a whole bunch of shit that needs to take place. But basically your L1B needs to have its run for 2/3 years before they even start the GC process. The fastest could be within 3 years of starting the process provided you make Manager and they give you a salary that meets the PWD

Putting in my notice today. It's sad my offer came in late, and even sadder how absurdly mean the partner responses have been for a huge opportunity. Reminder : Partners don't really care about you.

Part of a BD now, thinking of going on my own as RIA. Costs would be about 50% less, which makes it seem like an obvious choice. Have a deep family friend relationship with current firm, though. I don’t want to burn a bridge, but am I crazy to be a bit upset that the relationship could keep me from doing what I think may be right? Really struggling with that part of the decision.

Random question. But has anyone here transitioned to a strategist from a creative role? Would being a copywriter benefit someone who’s trying to get into the strategy scene? Any tips appreciated!
