McKinsey & Company I'm looking at a role in the Planetrics division under Vivid Economics that McKinsey bought last year. I like the climate risk space but would eventually want to move into broader sustainability and decarbonization strategy. As such, I wanted to know how integrated the firms are after the acquisition, how involved the Vivid/Planetrics consultants are with sustainability strategy projects and whether there are any internal transfers. Got an offer for a L7 role at Goog, tc is 800 annual ( base, stocks, and bonuses). Torn between taking the role and joining Google or staying at the Firm and making partner this year or next at the latest. So.... Design tests being part of the hiring process. How does everyone feel about these? I’ve run into them a few times while applying for work and spent weekends working on them with no hire by the end of the process. In a way I can see why they do it - but I’m also weirded out that my portfolio just isn’t enough. What’s everyone’s take? And does anyone do this in their hiring process?
