I need help managing a contract transition. I just started working as project manager owning a large system and help manage a team of developers contracted by a different company. Now their contract is ending and I’ve been asked to represent the gov’t as a contractor and make sure the transition goes well. I’ve never been in this position…usually I’m either transitioning in or out. The outgoing isn’t very organized with their knowledge transfer and documentation and want to help them but how?

Currently 25 y/o making 70k/year in Boston. I grew up pretty poor and I have minimal financial education. A lot of my salary now goes towards helping my parents get out of debt. My parents are no longer able to live on their own, so considering selling my grandmas house where they live (maybe 550k), paying off their mortgage (100k) and buying a duplex (between them they make about 55k/year). Anyone have slow months where you burn through a lot of your allotted pro bono/professional development hours to keep hitting minimum daily hours? The past few weeks have been like this for me. Should I be concerned (I.e., will this reflect poorly on me, come review time? Will I have dug myself too much of a hole if I keep burning my non-billable hours?) I started at a new company 2 months ago and while I’m really enjoying my job so far, I’m having a hard time gauging whether or not I’m doing a “good job.” My role seems to be always evolving, which is fine and I actually enjoy being a support to the greater marketing team, but I feel like I need better defined targets to make sure I’m meeting expectations. I'm going to be teaching my first class when I finish school in January and I'm nervous. Any advice for my first day at school? Or what you wish you knew on your first day? It's my first real teaching job (1st grade) and I really want to do well.

What do you do over your schools winter break? How long is it? I have almost 2 full weeks and I'm debating between doing a ton of prep or actually trying to relax. 2nd year teacher and last year was mostly virtual so I had more "free" time to get stuff together.

Hello everyone I live in Chicago. I have been teaching Preschool for over 15 years. I have a Bachelor’s in ECE, credential 5 with gateway. Now I work as a kindergarten Specialist. I wanted to relocate to some place warm, that has no problem with paying their staff. I am well rounded and have a lot of knowledge and experience. Any tips or suggestions.

Just found out my husband is being transferred to the Chicago area in about two months, I know finding a new job mid-school year will be tough but if anyone has any leads on a secondary opening please share!
