If it’s for a portfolio, you can always ask a trusted co-worker to send files if it doesn’t get them in trouble. And give them a few weeks to do it over time so they don’t look suspicious.
Well, I don’t know why you would print them and not just back them up on a thumb drive or email them to yourself. But either way, you should be careful because technically everything you worked on while being paid by your employer legally belonged to them and they own the copyright. So you can sued if you try to use anything you’ve worked in the future. You could even be sued if you put these projects on your portfolio without permission
Ah okay good to know thanks!
Don't do it. Even if you worked hard on those files, a lot of companies see anything created on their time as their property. Is it worth the risk of getting caught stealing?
Yeah, you should probably not do that and if you do. Wouldn’t post online about it. Any work completed while employed, while on company time, especially on company equipment, likely belongs to the employer.
Haha okay thanks for the advice!
“Print” and “files” are the challenge here.
Taking files can be problematic. But taking screenshots of your work for your personal book is completely legit
Okay good to know!
Just save the files, why do you need to print them?
Good idea
Perfect
I would just print them. Not on your last day though, as you go.
Are you able to email them to yourself or send them to yourself digitally?I would probably go that route rather than trying to print hard copies.
