I am having 8 yoe and working as a consultant in Infosys (2 Yoe in Infy). Got ab offer from Microsoft as Support Engineer at 55% hike but it is only for North American shifts and also need to call to customers to resolve issues on daily basis.

Is it worth it as it might affect work life balance and also lower designation.

Infy is trying to retain me with a promotion and 20-25% hike.

Plz guide me as I am very much confused.

Why do firms fire people with low but still profitable hours? I am in my first full year on track for pretty low hours (~1500) but the actual realized fees (after writedowns) are still double my yearly salary. Is it because firms know they could replace someone like me with an equivalent attorney who would bill more?

Some Business Intelligence/Analyst roles are very data heavy. I wonder why these roles do not have the term “data” in them, and wonder if it’s to keep the salary lower than it should be. Clawback clause in current contract: been in role for over 2 yrs, it was an internal move that required relocation. Relocation was approved shortly after (over 2 yrs ago) but covid meant the actual move and start of my contract with new subsidiary was delayed, I was paid by the previous subsidiary meanwhile. I got small relocation package. Would internal move be subject to a buy-out/clawback clause if I leave now and if yes, is it time in role or time under new contract? Any experience? Thanks!
