I am interviewing for a contract scientist job at J&J. Would really like any insight or advice on this. My goal is to get experience in a new industry and find something permanent. I thought a contract position would be a good way to make connections. Does it work like that? I would be leaving a full time permanent job with benefits and higher pay (with crappy location and environment is becoming toxic). Am I making a big mistake?! Thank you!

Yes, you are right at the first part but the contract jobs are easily vanished without any package. Leaving a full-time permanent job is not recommended in such environment.

Thank you!

I agree, many have worked for my company as contract hoping to be hired on but it never happen.

2/ Don’t wait, just jump or apply to other roles
3/ Study and go back to grab MBA (considering MIT or Stanford MSX - 1 YR)
