Try looking into SaaS companies in the EdTech space. They constantly look for candidates who have the educational background as a requirement.
This 👆🏽- revops is spot on. Look at companies that provide services for or sell to the education sector as a starting point. They may value more highly your experience working inside the system
Translating classroom experience to business speak is honestly a nightmare, you’re right. The skills are there - just hidden in all those teacher-y words! I had to go through my own resume line by line and basically rewrite every task to target business keywords, like shifting "lesson planning" to "project management" or "stakeholder communication" instead of "parent conferences."
It’s exhausting and half the time I wondered if some keyword was making the difference or just getting filtered out by bots. I started running my resume through a couple online scanners just to see what the ATS even looks for. ResumeJudge, Jobscan, and even Resume Worded have some free tools for finding missing keywords and weird formatting issues. It surprised me how much the tiniest stuff (like the wrong font or a table) can mess up your chances.
Crazy thing is, I landed more interviews just by matching the language in job posts. Don’t be afraid to really brag on your people skills and quick learnings - those are gold everywhere. What kind of roles are you targeting? Sometimes the best way to stand out is to show you speak their language, even if you just learned it last week.
