I am planning to acquire an AICP (Certified Planners License) and a LEED AP ND (already have a LEED AP BD+C) since I have seen an increasing number of requests for the same in RFPs for large scale and urban design projects across USA. Do these certifications add any weight to ones profile in terms of future compensation adjustment?

Have final round interviews at BCG tomorrow. I'm at S& right now at the SA level. Father had a sudden health issue come up this week and it's got me off my game. My boss (atty) is so disorganized! I’ve been with him 6 months and he’s having a hard time delegating, sharing info and managing deadlines. I’ve organized the caseload to manage the deadlines. He says he wants me to help with discovery but when I offer to start on one, he says he needs to do it. (Since he might have to present as evidence) When I give him deadlines and ask for the docs he says he’ll get to it. It’s a small 1 man firm, and I’m the first assistant besides his wife. Any advice?

My evenings and often the weekends are all absorbed by work duties. Working part-time would allow me to find a better balance, and carve out space for side gigs and eventually start my own firm. Been working as an Assistant Technician for 3 years (2 years excluding pandemic) pay is £21k now £22 adjusted for inflation. I will be completing my Part 1 in architecture but also have a degree in Technology, should I find a different company after graduation or take roles offering £30-45k as an Architectural Technologist/Technician.

Curious to know what other avenues people have taken in our industry to make more money. Currently getting OT which is nice since most places don’t offer that benefit but still doesn’t feel like it’s worth the long nights when the paycheck comes in.
