What exactly do you do for a living?

Can’t speak to what you do - but there certainly are roles in your space I am sure that involve travel. I’ve been a top tier flyer for 15 years and I have to tell you… it’s not all it’s cracked up to be anymore. Basically all you need is a couple credit cards and you’ll get treated almost the same. Upgrades on planes and hotels are cool when you are doing it all the time. For the occasional traveler, you might as well pay for those things (bigger rooms, upgraded seats on planes, etc). Lounge access is all about cards now. Also keep in mind that most companies have relatively strict travel policies (think Concur) - essentially monitoring your spend and raising flags if you fly or stay in not the cheapest room. Frankly, it’s somewhat of a game to maintain loyalty. Just my opinion. I manage my own travel budget and it’s harder to fly my preferred carrier. I can navigate the hotel piece, but that isn’t always the case. Good news is for you, SFO is a great airport! Plenty of direct options. Good luck!
Try using a CC strategy to start getting some travel points. Look at this site: https://thepointsguy.com/ Eventually everything will start lining up, it is just a matter to get out of your comfort zone and having a good strategy.
Are you a nurse? Because if you are, you can definitely switch to travel nursing if you want to travel.
What's your job if you don't mind me asking? Maybe you should switch jobs that allow you to travel. Patient services representatives and heath care recruiters do travel a lot.
