Congrats on the offer! So the first thing I always recommend when you get an offer is
1) first negotiate the pay
2) negotiate signing bonus
3) negotiate job title
4) negotiate benefits
5) negotiate start date
Usually I do one at a time when getting an offer which means they just call every hour for 6 hours to tell me what the best they can do is and we keep going back and forth down this list
I almost make a note on my phone when I start a job search for my min acceptable offer stuff so then when I feel emotional during the process I can refer back to that to regain my senses
I would ask for the sake of clarity, but I would take M1's advice if it doesn't affect your bonus or salary. I would want to know for sure where I stood before signing though, so yes I would ask the recruiter.
Rising Star
Does it impact the bonus or anything else? If not I’d say go in as the analyst and then push for a promotion quickly to senior analyst, many times there are bigger raises in promotions, so let’s say you perform well in 2022, get your merit then you push for the senior analyst “promotion” and get another 5% you came out ahead.
I second the above-mentioned suggestion. If you want clarity and assurance, then ask the recruiter for some clarification. How big is the difference between the salary of a senior analyst and an analyst in that company?
Yes, it will definitely impact pay.
I would ask for clarification. Better to be safe than sorry.
