I been interviewing and just recived 2 offers one in public and one in private. I live in a MCOL and have 5 years of experience and I make 95k in small firm and i do both tax and audit.
1) from Baker Tilly as a remote Senior in tax they offer 110k.
2) small private company 10 minutes away as a manager and they offer 125k.
Which offer is a better option ? Both have similar benefits
I personally wouldn’t give up the flexibility and benefits BT has to offer for $15k

Baker Tilly is pretty cool and has a great work life balance. I feel like the expectations for promotion are clear so if you’re on that track already, it’d probably be only a matter of time for you to promote to manager. Unless the small firm is absolutely amazing, I’d probably go with BT.

Depending on amount of staff you have in the private company it may be similar stress level
