My belly keeps getting flabbier during menopause. Mainly uncomfortable bloating. Has anyone found any foods or supplements that have helped??

I'd try 2 things, 1)probiotics and 2) food sensitivity diet. Remove one common allergen from your diet for 2 or 3 weeks then add it back in and see how you feel with and without it. I've had friends do that with dairy and they find out they're lactose intolerant. Or soy or wheat etcetc

Intermittent fasting has helped me because I think it lets my stomach digest everything. I try not eating between 6pm and 8am a few times per week.

As for HRT, I get regular blood tests to check hormone levels and adjust dosage. Pain in the ass but I hope it works. This is the most unfit looking I’ve ever been and it’s definitely a side effect of menopausal hormone changes.

I completely sympathize. I was at my goal weight in 2017. Then I had my hysterectomy and I can’t get out of the 150s. It’s so frustrating as I run 6x per week. Hang in there and keep me posted on HRT!!

I’m trying to figure this out too. Probiotics upset my stomach and/or cause diarrhea so I’m still hunting for other solutions. I don’t eat dairy, processed foods, anything in a can... pretty much cook everything myself, protein and veggies. I don’t drink, work out 5 days per week, average 1300 calories of food a day. And here is this flabby ab problem which I’ve never had before. Need to explore HRT next I think.

First off can I just say I love you are a CIO? That is my aspiration!! Would love to get you involved in a series I want to do called “Road to Chief”

I am on HRT but never know how much to take. I started on the patch, then the lotion, now the pills. I’m supposed to take 2 equaling .1 mg but sometimes only take one.

The effects of too little or too many hormones is confusing as they have similarities!

I didn't apply for a job that would have set me up for the future in the government. I wouldn't have to worry about money or future jobs. My boss had just given me a small pay rise and talked up the future and so I felt good. I now severely regret not applying for the job and cannot stop thinking about it to the point of insomnia and depression. I even contacted the employer but too late. It's a small town and rarely anything comes up. I hate myself and feel like I failed my family. :(

I finally broke down and went back on HRT last week. I have been taking gabapentin for a nerve injury which I’ve learned helps hot flashes. I can’t tell a significant difference yet aside from maybe getting a little better sleep. I saw a new doctor (male) to get my prescription refilled and he seems to have a different philosophy than my last doctor (female). He wants me to be on HRT until 51, but after that he doesn’t recommend it. I hope by that age I’ll be off the gabapentin…

Okay — diets & weight loss. What have you seen that actually works? I exercise almost daily but realize my portions and food intake aren’t perfect. I do not want to track cals or macros as that caused me to have an eating disorder. I have an OCD personality.

Just downloaded an App called MenoLife. It’s free (so far) and is filled with articles, recipes, trackers, etc. they also have products which I may look into. Anyone else try this brand?

I’ve been working in full time in special education for several years while finishing my bachelors degree in psychology with a concentration in behavior. I’ve been having some mental issues lately and have no idea if it’s due to my HRT.
If I take .75 of estradiol I still have hot flashes. If I take 1.0 I feel either numb or depressed constantly.
I feel like I’m bearing this battle alone as my Physician’s seem like experimenting with dosing is my only option.
I’ve also consistently done intermittent fasting for two weeks, exercise 5x per week, and am eating better all to lose a whopping .5 lbs. SMH

Anyone else done menopause completely natural?

Hi ladies, I'm in my mid 40s and I think I'm entering peri. I currently have a Mirena but I should replace it again soon, but one more will put me into my 50s(!!) and I was wondering if anyone here knows that they're in peri or menopause without having periods. Is there blood work or something to check? I definitely do not want to have another child accidentally. I've got 5 more years until my youngest is in college and don't want to start over again.

I keep forgetting to ask about this but I noticed ever since my hysterectomy years ago I have arthritis (I think) in my fingers. Basically I can’t open things that I easily could before like jars, caps, and even ziploc bags. Has anyone else experienced this? Basically your hands and fingers feeling weaker, numb, painful or just not working? Any way to combat this? TIA 🐟

I am 52 I have been feeling so tired and when I was in my 40’s. I had a lot more energy. Now I am so tired after work - but I have 4 girls ages, 16-15-13-9. I am going through menopause and my Osteoarthritis hurts somedays and that doesn’t work. Any advice how to keep up with my four girls while feeling crummy?!?

I figure if anyone can understand this, it’s you all. I feel like I’m losing my damn mind. I have always loved communications, and I’m really good at it. But lately I’m so tired of politics and toxicity that I it’s sent me into a depression tailspin, on top of a pretty severe mid-life crisis. Two and a half weeks ago, I quit my job with nothing lined up. Not the smartest thing I’ve ever done, but I kind of feel like self-preservation was at work here. I want to do work that makes a difference. ☹️
