Not just you. There's some truth to feeling lonely at the top. I still treat the people I was friends with before my promotion like friends but climbing the ladder has definitely changed my work friendships. I've had to force myself to accept that keeping to myself is always a safe bet anyway. I'll just try and be content anyway.
I think men and women are lonely at the top
Yup. Even one rung down from this, I still felt like I was in the mix. Regularly invited to lunch and out on weekends. Now I’m just the boss.
Yes, I feel this. The more driven we are the more we get punished. We are more likely to lose family, friends, and get isolated at work because of our drive. Whereas men gain more respect and admiration. I still don’t get why.
