Hi fellow fishies!
Can someone please explain what is “SUPPLEMENTARY allowance” in my payslip??? It is the highest in my entire payslip, more than basic salary. Basic is lets say ₹7 lac annually and supplementary bonus is ₹7 lac 40 thousand.
Can someone please explain why this exists in my paylslip, is it good or bad from tax perspective and shall I ask my HR to decrease it???
Please help asap.

Honestly, outpatient! I’ve worked in hospitals my whole career from med Surg to ICU, and administration. Recently, I’ve taken an RN outpatient coordinator position and love it. I do have my MSN, but I love the doctors I work with and it’s definitely better.
It’s mind boggling that we educate ourselves and do what we need to do to advance and it’s getting us nowhere! Toxic work environments, staffing issues etc!! What is going on!!! Them school loans still thriving though!!
I didn't like being a number in corporate factories and then pharmacies. But going small business specialty pharmacy is not working me either.
I am in the interview process for a medical records technician position at a local hospital. It sounds great for me, better pay and benefits. It's in the same medical area I've worked with as a pharmacy technician.
My suggestion is to try moving to a position laterally that your current qualifications and knowledge will be utilized and move you to a different department.
This type of career move may be enough to make a much needed change without the need for more education on your part.
Good luck!
💯💯 extremely toxic, no better than toxic Corp America.
It also helps to work for a company who supports good employees and will address these issues head on. My current employer is the reason I have not retired yet. It is hands down the best company I have worked for in my state .
I haven’t moved from job-to-job enough times to gain good rep, but we live in a dog-eat dog world. Especially in this great nation. I survived a mortal accident, I have a Brain injury, and talk with a slurred speech. I also fractured my back and walk with a limp. Even when they were aware of my adversity, coworkers at a reputable hospital would still make going to work feel like a drag. I couldn’t support that, I didn’t want to have to walk with my guard up, so I quit. I’m not going to lie, I do miss the job sometimes. In retrospect, I could’ve flexed my ADA rights and nonchalantly leave those hating jealous fuckers with their words in their mouth.
Remember that work like a composition. Everybody fights dirty, all under HRs radar, for their own benefit just to get the perceived advantage. Don’t be afraid to do the same. Your not there to make friends, it’s not a playground. The only “player” you should have in mind is the boss. Even the head nurse might be a pseudo neutral player but even she would have her own clique.
….You can either be a chihuahua barking, making irrelevant ruckus, a puddle with passive aggression, or a German shepherd that’s there for business
Try Cybersecurity cuz it is a lucrative field and easy to get in and out into the broad job market hence on high demand.Speaking from experience I am also transitioning from Healthcare into the Cybersecurity industry.Degrees eg Masters,PHDs do not matter in this industry but your handsome work experience which is acquired while you build your portfolio as you work on various projects during your study. Also some students are able to land jobs before they graduate as a personal coach is assigned to each individual student depending on which institution you choose. There are several schools out there including Harvard,TripleTen, Automation workz( https://autoworkz.org/application/, University of Michigan Nexus https://digitalskills.engin.umich.edu/about-us/ , community colleges.I would recommend the U off M wheream currently attending school.Goodluck with everything

So sorry to hear this from all of you I had know idea that Nursing Staff was treated like this . I know its a lot of work and time , but I never thought that it was to this point. I just assumed it was due to COVID 19 that caused a lot of Nurses to leave the profession. Not just overall bullying, toxicity and plain old BS . Sending All of you Healing Prayers in Jesus Christ name Amen 🙏🙌🙏🙏 and Blessings
Work has been glamorized. There's crap in every industry, some just pay more for the crap you won't avoid. Toxic work environments, poor staffing, administrative red tape, capitalism, and people.
Oh, absolutely! It’s unbearable.
I got into the field of Healthcare as a Patient Care Tech because I honestly didn't know my niche. I soon found out from watching floor nurses, nursing and endless charting wasn't for me. I knew I wanted more education and responsibilities but didn't quite know which department to go to. Fortunately I was crosstrained in GI and later Histology/Pathology and I loved my Job at The VA!
I have worked at another unnamed Hospital in their GI Dept and it was so toxic no other departments would take employees from there, they were such dividers and trouble makers. It's imperative to have a healthy group of co- workers that's for sure and boy are they harder n harder to find. I love working in SPD because I'm still with a team but on my own.
I am nearly finished with my 40 plus years working as a nurse. I have found that the only and best approach to dealing with work place bullying is to confront it head on.
Call it out, first I will approach the individual or individuals, if ineffective , utilize the chain of command. Announce your concerns in meetings. There were instances I didn’t follow this advice and it never worked out for me.
engineering has great opportunities for females and good advancement potential too, Nice 9-5 job schedule as well and most companies offer far better benefits than healthcare. I'd say switch to engineering
