There are projects that you know in advance that you cannot deliver. It doesn’t matter how hard you try… It’s better to find an excuse and get out of this project.

Yup, glad they let me roll off. Hopefully can find something better
“I understand everything” is a key piece telling me that you thrive in your comfort zone but struggle when leaving it. Maybe reframing it as a challenge that is broadening your skillset could help? Knowing especially it is short term. That said, if you hate it, you hate it. I struggle with similar issues at times and I’ve gone to the point of just jumping ship completely before I went nuts. But if you really really want to keep this particular role, I’d really work on the “reframing” aspect and maybe even have a discussion with manager about where you think your best talents lie and could still be of value for this project? Maybe there is room for a reshuffle. Good luck though, having been there, I know it’s a sucky feeling.
What type of work do you do, and what level are you at?
It’s tough if you genuinely aren’t interested in what you’re doing. It’s also tough because you’re at a lower level, so the work is going to be more in the details. It’s tough to understand everything if the project itself is large as well.
Tech implementations are often large team projects - maybe you could see if you could get some more task variety or switch what you’re specifically doing? And also, would be good to make sure you have good systems to organize yourself and help you to remember things.
