I think 60 equivalent should be atleast $250-300k

like

What do you do to make 60lpa? I want that job

like

Stay put with 60LPA. Chicago is cold and you will be miserable with limited social circle and then visa / green card drama will slow you down further.

like

I worked in both Hyderabad and Chicago. I’d stick to Hyderabad especially with your salary package there

Thank you . Since you have experience both side. Do you see more growth in the US. How do you compare kids education. Sometimes I also think that I want to retire early so there is no point chasing the dream since I have only 8 years or less

I use a factor of 3 for PPP conversion. 60 lakhs is 1.8 crore or $240k base in US

like

$150 in Chicago is very low bring single earner and a kid. I would ask for at least $220-$240k or low tier city in Michigan, Minnesota or Ohio. All this only if you really want to move to USA or else staying in your own city with extended family in this COVID ERA is a blissss

like

Agree with what everyone else has said here. I live in Chicago as well

like

I live in Chicago. With a wife and a kid, 150 would be OK in Chicago. So you'll be going from an AWESOME pay to OK pay.

Thank you! Yes , I was thinking single earner in India is fine but will struggle in the US

like

Would you mind sharing yoe, what type of work you do there and which company? On serious note I think its really good package and didn't know people are getting this much salary in India.

Also research and see some Governmental NGOs who are paying in the 40 LPA for policy and strategy work for AVP level. Example Invest India , MakeinIndia etc

like

I make 140k in SF and have chosen to move to India for 40 LPA.

100k is like a poverty line in SF. Good decision

My 3 year old & I were in the bath together and suddenly he reached out to my chest and said “mumma, your lungs are outside, mine are inside my body” I was so embarrassed! I was wearing underpants so thankfully he didn’t notice my non-existant penis

What is the parental leave policy at your firm? Please include: (1) size of firm; (2) location of firm; (3) how many paid weeks off (from firm - not state/fed); (4) other perks, such as ramp up/down time, etc.

I go on maternity leave soon, and my firm offers 16 weeks paid leave, which I plan to fully take advantage of. The only female shareholder in our office keeps pushing me to only take 6 weeks though, because that's what she did. I feel really put off by her comments, but its also making me feel guilty about taking the full time. This is mostly a vent, but if anyone wants to give me some words of wisdom or thoughts, I will take them!
