I currently work as a GM and Operations manager for a family owned Restaurant chain in Denver, CO. I run four Restaurants, and two Coffee shops for the owner. I opened four of these businesses since January 2021. My salary is 73k. I feel very underpaid and very overworked to the point of burnout. I’m wondering what “fair compensation” might be. I want to ask for a raise but not sure what to ask for.

Sharing my experience with Deloitte USI interview and offer negotiation. I gave Deloitte interview 2 months ago. After managerial round I did multiple follow ups and Deloitte didn’t bother to reply. I moved on and got another offer. After 1 month Deloitte came back and asked for documents and didn’t show up for another 1 month. Today HR called and asked my expectations. Gartner - 16LPA
Dunnhumby - 15 fixed + 1.5 Joining bonus+ 10% variable
Fractal - 13.5 LPA

Any advice on asking for a raise? Thinking about asking for one at the end of the summer. That’ll make a year and a half at my company. And I’ve produced 2 campaigns so far, plus one off work. A company has 2 candidates, aged 25-30, equal in every respect save one’s a man the other’s a woman. Maybe the woman is a slightly better candidate overall. They’d have equal comp.

Company considers the woman a riskier bet due to possibility she’ll take maternity leave — and considers the man less risky for his ineligibility to take as much leave. 🤷

Tell me your craziest experience working with a TV network. Here comes mine:

I'm American, but my family is mostly Colombian. I was told my aunt and cousins would come here for 2 weeks. I discovered they were going to be paid to appear in a famous Hispanic TV show, where a "judge" receives a case, hears the plaintiffs and defendants and renders a verdict. But of course, it's all fake and payed 😂 turns out she wanted me to go there (even though I don't work for that TV network) so she's sure she'll be paid at the end of the show. Wth did I just do.

I’m a former forensic scientist that left the field several years ago. I recently received a subpoena from a case I worked and suggested to DA to have evidence re-worked by the lab or stipulation. If I am required to testify (as an expert witness), I would need to book a flight, hotel, etc. My question is this: can I ask for my requested hourly rate, travel, and hotel to be covered when speaking with DA or is that “not how this works” as the investigator put it?
