I don’t own any luxury watches but I’m interested in getting my first Rolex. Plan to own forever and pass down to future kids. I put my name down at an AD for a submariner but in the meantime I have been looking at datejusts and GMTs on the grey market. Thoughts for a good first Rolex?

It’s listed as $8,750 on Omega’s website; Geneva Seal (in Chi where we live) quoted me $8,200 all-in & they’ll cover tax; my jeweler knows a watch broker in NY who quoted me $8,250. I’m not at all familiar with this process so 1) can anyone recommend a better venue for this purchase? 2) are any of the quotes I’ve gotten so far good? (My friend’s watch guy said brokers can get Omegas up to 36% off retail?)
