I feel quite in my career, my job seems monotonous too, I am not sure if I need to change my job or my career…and may not have the luxury to do so

I feel the same way, and based off threads I’ve seen over the months here on fishbowl, many are feeling the same way. The job market is incredibly difficult to pivot to a new role which I believe is creating stagnant careers for many. At least I feel that way for me.

Remember that we, fellow fishes, are in a fishbowl. The bowl may distort our view of the world. This means that everyone around you on this app is generally looking for a job. But we, fishes, may not represent the entire working population.

Thank you for sharing, my job in terms of workload/ team is actually very nice so I am grateful for that… but I’m extremely uninspired by the variety of work, and after multiple attempts of trying to speak to my manager about it have decided to stop speaking about it. I am not sure if my line of work (supply chain) is the issue or is it my workplace

You need a hobby and to take an alternate route to work… trust me on tbis one

I have been in management for the past 8 years and part of large corporations. I just recently joined a small organization that I have wanted to be a part of for the past 2 years, accepted the role of general manager. This organization knew that I don’t have general manager experience, no payroll experience, no experience setting prices, no purchasing experience and today, 6 days after starting, I have been asked to step down due to not being confident that I will be ready in 3 weeks…

At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. I believe I'm on track to promotion in the next year. So, I could put in a year of full time school to check the box off, but I'd be sacrificing hobbies and social life (not to mention cost). Is this FOMO or is there real opportunity here?

My background is in tech transactional. I joined a cybersecurity SaaS startup at the end of last year and now also handle more generalist matters in addition to all things commercial-related. I have a number of books on contracts that I’ve found super helpful over the years (The Tech Contracts Handbook, A Manual of Style for Contract Drafting, Sign Here, etc.). Can anyone recommend books they’ve found helpful for L&E matters, privacy matters, product matters, or marketing/advertising matters?

I am in the process of finding administrative assistant interns from our local universities. In an effort to make my job opportunity appealing, I am asking everyone in this bowl about an appropriate job title. Is "Administrative Assistant" outdated or unappealing? I certainly don't want to mislead anyone on the job responsibilities, but I do want to avoid any potential negative stereotypes attached to that job title. Are there alternative titles that you find more appropriate for 2022?

I'm just curious since I've seen people working for 20 years in TCS, but I don't know how it is in PWC.

Any help will be appreciated

By flexible I mean in terms of moving between positions, companies and technologies.

I've done both and am currently doing salesforce development but don't want to get pigeonholed.
