I find in my job most of the time no two days are ever quite the same, especially with the fast paced side of media! Sometimes that unpredictability is what gets me out of bed, other times it’s just painful in the mornings. Im interested, what’s that one thing that gets you out of bed in the morning? (And why is it coffee??)

"And why is it coffee?" 😂😂😂 You already know! It's funny, though, because the "no two days being alike" is exactly what drives me, too. The media industry ruined me, for sure. I could never go back to my old, mundane, 9-5 data entry role.

🤣 you know it! Coffee drives me but I also wouldn’t want a same thing everyday type of job

Oh I love the idea of not knowing what the day will bring. I check my emails with excitement! Most of the time it's boring and predictable but I live in hope. As a freelancer, I have to get up with the belief something wild will come my way.

I hope it comes soon ! I kinda love the whiplash I can get from how much things change

Coffee and my 17 phone alarms 🤣. I snooze them way too often to be solely reliant on one getting me up and out of bed. I've even started plugging my phone into the outlet across the room so I have to physically get out of bed to silence the alarms. It's much harder to fall back asleep once I'm already standing up and out of the warm, cozy comfort of my bed.

I have a light up alarm clock and for me that was a game changer so I would defo recommend trying one!

I've gotten myself disciplined to where I can just get up and get going most days. But my failsafe is that I have to walk the dog in the morning. She's got a real routine that can't be broken, lest there be consequences, so that ensures that I'm up and moving.

I want a dog so badly and hearing this is really persuading me, the routine will really help out 🤣

For me it is deadlines. As much as I dread them, they are the only thing that actually gets me moving. Coffee helps, but the panic of a looming deadline works faster than caffeine.

Oh no I don’t think of deadlines until after my morning coffee so I’m actually awake !

Is anyone recruiting for a sales development manager/ SDR manager at their company right now. Im based on the UK and would love a recommendation or referral. I have 8 years of sales experience with 4 in tech sales (mainly new business and hunting). Thank you in advance.

How hard is it to pivot to a BDR/SDR role as a tech consultant from a boutique firm with 1-yr experience? I don’t have previous sales experience, except for my time at a call center which lasted for two months until covid hit. What should I be doing now to bridge this knowledge gap? Hello, I wanted to mention that I work as a sports commentator, specifically about soccer. I used to be one of the main journalists for Spanish media, but since I moved to Miami I feel the general passion for soccer is very different 🥲 The energy and commitment are not even close to what I felt in Spain, where some businesses would close if the match was too important. I hope this nostalgia goes away soon.
