I find myself frustrated (and angry at time if I'm honest) at a team member of mine. Our company is going through a hard time financially and in order to preserve as much staff as possible, my team has pivoted roles for a portion of the day. My staff is aware of the cash flow issue.
She's always been acerbic but recently has 0 positive attitute or anything good to say. Any feedback is deflected or ignored, and I get frustrated by her constant negative attitude.
Thoughts, feedback, suggestions?

She’s working in a stressful work environment where her job could be cut at any time due to cash flow issues. She’s seeing other staff be reassigned (assuming that’s what “pivoted roles” means). She’s getting feedback that her attitude isn’t positive enough in a low morale setting. Can you blame her? Perhaps a “this sucks, thanks for sticking it out and doing xyz” would go farther than “we need more from you without giving you confidence you will be here next week”.

I should have been more clear- I dont give her feedback about her attitude, just about her role. Both constructive and positive....Idk I guess I'm just tired as it's been a lot to steer the team during the transition and to hear only complaints is hard

I would sit the person down and address their behaviour, showing empathy but also explain how her attitude is having an impact on you and others.
If this conversation doesn’t change their ways then consider removing them from the business involving HR

What do you mean by “pivoted roles for a portion of the day”?

Got you - I understand you did what you had to do to overcome this tough period, but from her perspective she is probably doing jobs she has not signed up for and that she doesn’t necessarily have a skillset for. I think it’s worth showing some empathy both ways. Not a desirable situation for anyone, and expecting people to perform positivity during a tough time doesn’t really help

Looking for advice:
My dept has 2 directors. One is so rude. The other ignores the issue. The previous HR director told me to report any issues because she was building a case (not appropriate info to share, I know). She's since left and there's a new HR director. This rude guy has recently sent me several very rude things through email and I'm debating how to handle it. Is it worth it to talk to HR? Im worried it'll just make things worse since none of it is "wrong", just rude and insensitive.

There are too many men out there who think that just because I'm being polite, it's a sign that they should flirt with me while I'm at work. I thought this was 2022, why haven't we as a society gotten past this yet?

At what point do you walk away when bosses or team values do not align with your personal values? Boss told me I’m too soft and I should be prepared to burn bridges if it’s a good outcome for company.

My boss asked me to take care of some of the details of a project for her—the stuff that isn't really my area of expertise. And now I feel like a shirker because I haven't been able to finish them yet.

My ethnicity makes me a minority but I would never join a minority affinity/business resource group. I think it creates separation which can lead to an “us versus them” mentality - a step backwards. Aren’t we supposed to respect or work towards respecting each other without the need to form institutions to make things “official”? I’d like to hear some thoughts from people who disagree and if they are in these groups or not

Advice: had a nice call with a GSD three weeks back, he suggested I connect with a strategy director at the agency. I followed up with both but haven't heard back. Do I nag them again? Is it too late?

I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later. He has to approve every single document sent to the client or the court, which means you have a physically go to his office to ask him to review something. Half of the time you go to meet with him in person, he’s either on a call or otherwise busy. I find that this basically creates more work and makes meeting deadlines extremely difficult. Is this normal?
