I got fired today. Last week I was given praises for my work and leadership from my team, from my peers, and from my boss. Then my boss resigned and the next week was a witch hunt. I am in shock. I have been laid off before but I have never seen the likes of this. I was working for an American company in Germany. I am a single mother, 100% on my own. 3 weeks from my permanent residency appointment, and because I started this job 5.5 months ago they can fire me on the spot with no severance.

I’m quitting my job tomorrow morning. I don’t have a new job lined up. I’m scared, but also excited? I’ve felt under utilized for months, and haven’t had a promotion after two years. I never take risks like this, but life is too short. Is this a bad choice?

Do you think it is quite possible to get fired by asking too many questions as an experienced senior 1? If so, i might get fired after this busy season.

I’ve been here for 4 years and I’m thinking of obtaining my Master’s in Organizational Leadership, but I feel like with this merger, if I started the program and then there are layoffs or too many new hires, or work just becomes overwhelming, I wouldn’t be able to complete my program. Looking for perspective here! I’m worried that my ex is going to refuse to pay child support and take me to court over it. And I’m worried that somehow support won’t be given. In your collective experiences, do judges award child support in 50/50 custody cases if the husband makes more a good deal more income? My ex makes 60% of hhi and I make 40%, but live in a HCOL area so really need support to help pay rent. My lawyer says I can’t make the rent case because I can move somewhere cheaper.

I am embarking on egg freezing soon and I got some unpleasant news today after a scan. I had a scan 2 months ago and my follicle count was slightly low then. As I was on birth control at the time, I had to go off it and repeat the scan two months later.
