I got laid off in January and have been trying to find a new job since. I keep making it to the phone interview and sometimes a second interview, but always get ghosted. It’s so disheartening. I have too much experience for an internship, and I have too little to be the top choice for copywriter roles. I know I’m a good writer, I know what I’m capable of, but it’s so exhausting trying to convince people. They always like my book but it’s never enough to get the gig. What can I do?

2nd year associate here. Has anyone made a jump from a boutique firm to big law? I found out that I’m a front runner for a gig with an Amlaw 100. I never thought I’d have this chance having graduated from an unranked law school and still being so junior. Even though the firm asked if I’d be willing to start as a 1st year given my lack of litigation experience, it’s still a monumental upgrade/ jump. I’ll managing several people of the same level on this project, and all of them are men. I’m worried I could come off as apologetic or indecisive on our day to day if I lack confidence in my voice and words. I want them to trust me as a leader, but I sense some initial hesitation given we’re all the same rank and competing for promotion. 🐠 , any advice on smart ways to frame directives and questions, without making my team feel bad or competitive?

Everyday I think about quitting & how much I hate my job. When do I say enough is enough and quit? I have a family to support & a ton of student loans so it not like I can be unemployed. Just recently switched careers so it's unlikely I'd be able to find something better soon. I feel so trapped.
