I got laid off in January and have been trying to find a new job since. I keep making it to the phone interview and sometimes a second interview, but always get ghosted. It’s so disheartening. I have too much experience for an internship, and I have too little to be the top choice for copywriter roles. I know I’m a good writer, I know what I’m capable of, but it’s so exhausting trying to convince people. They always like my book but it’s never enough to get the gig. What can I do?

Focus on an opportunity or two. Create a whole campaign for them. wow them.. get their attention. it sometimes works and shows that you really understand their brand positioning, are excited, and are a great employee. AND/OR record yourself during interviews and analyze exactly how you tell your story. how do you answer their questions? be honest with yourself. would you hire yourself?

Messaged you on the side. I know of an opening that may help, depending on your location

Location?

I’m currently in the DC area, but open to relocating.

I was looking recently and ended up taking a counter offer from my current agency. I can’t stress enough the importance of networking. If you’re able to use connections to refer you to the job it will help so much.

I applied to a job on Glassdoor. There was no range or salary history for this position found. HR emailed me with a questionnaire that included salary req. I now have a first interview with team members. This mean I will not speak to HR first. I’ve now found a posting on LinkedIn for the position that DOES list the salary range and I am in the far low bracket. If I am offered the position, am I stuck with the range I gave? I assume my “cheapness” was desirable to them and I would lose the offer

Current S1 here. Is it okay if my resume experience is just: B4 Internship > Associate > Senior? (All in the same firm/practice) Never done other internships. The only other thing I could include is a student assistant job I had in college. Not sure if that's even relevant. Guess just the progression at this 1 firm is enough? Just looks a bit incomplete on the resume.

Anyone ever sit back and think about the problem of the commons? There is alot of rhetoric pitting democrats vs republican. Honeslty it seem to be more similar to a game then politics, yet society as a whole seems to be deteriorating. But those elected keep getting rich while others are begging for help, i mean dont get me wrong i get fired today or tomorrow, i may struggle a bit but for the most part will land on my feet..but why has it become so dismissive. I agree and disagree with both sides

How tough is it to lateral to a larger bank, or to exit into corp dev/strategy at a "large cap" company at the VP-ish level? I don't hate my bank/team but I do feel limited by the bank (since obviously reputation/size dictates the deals the bank can win)

2nd year associate here. Has anyone made a jump from a boutique firm to big law? I found out that I’m a front runner for a gig with an Amlaw 100. I never thought I’d have this chance having graduated from an unranked law school and still being so junior. Even though the firm asked if I’d be willing to start as a 1st year given my lack of litigation experience, it’s still a monumental upgrade/ jump. I’m nervous about the culture shock and whether I’ll cut it. Could really use some advice!

I’ll managing several people of the same level on this project, and all of them are men. I’m worried I could come off as apologetic or indecisive on our day to day if I lack confidence in my voice and words. I want them to trust me as a leader, but I sense some initial hesitation given we’re all the same rank and competing for promotion. 🐠 , any advice on smart ways to frame directives and questions, without making my team feel bad or competitive?
