how much harder is banking then valuation?
So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

Picture you’re on your deathbed looking back over your life. What do you wish you had done on this situation?
You’ve said nothing about you, your current position or the opportunity you’re looking at. Kinda hard to say anything meaningful with such minimal info...
I tend to be a little risk averse and have a hard time understanding how a temp position can be an opportunity someone dreams of.
Do you have a financial reserve and can manage being out of work for a bit if it comes to that?
if you feel it will be transformational for your career and you can afford to take the risk/don’t mind searching for the next gig when it’s over, then maybe it’s right for you. Or if you really want to get out of your current career and this a chance to do it, this could be the time.
... it all depends on your situation, aspirations and tolerance for risk.
If it’s just 2 months long, see about a unpaid leave. Agency brass always yammers about passion projects, see if they mean it!
Thanks. Unpaid leave is a pretty good solution:).
Agree with VP2–see if the agency will let you take a leave of absence. If they believe in creativity, they know it’s fueled by passion projects, even if they have nothing to do with ads. Good luck! Let us know what you decide
