At Amazon, what is the difference between a Program Manager and Technical Program Manager? It looks like the Technical one gets paid about 25% more but not sure what roles/responsibilities they do differently. Amazon
Also how technical a background does someone need for a Technical Program Manager role?

If you're pivoting to PM with no experience, your best bet would be to try and get in at your current company. Always easier than starting from scratch elsewhere. Similar with BA/DA roles. I'd focus on building some relationships in that area while simultaneously increasing your knowledge/skills through various online courses or training programs. Won't happen overnight, but eventually you can get there.
CAPM is super low stakes - low effort, low impact. Its cool if you have it, but don't expect any major change in access to opportunities.
Best case for you would be to try and force-fit a project within your current company. Anything happening thats adjacent to what you see yourself wanting to do, volunteer to lead/contribute even if it's not your role. That way you have a tangible experience to speak to when applying for the roles you want.
