I had an interview last week. The hiring manager told me they plan to finish the first round of interview by the end of this month. When should I follow up? Next week?

I wouldn’t follow up until after the end of the month if that’s when the HM said they will complete the first round of interviews.

like

Hold on - you’re planning to follow up two weeks before they will have finished other first round interviews? For what purpose? Genuinely confused….

Fair enough. I’d only follow up if there is a purpose to it, ideally to find out how I’ve done and whom they are taking forward; however amazingly it went for you, it sounds like they won’t be in a position to tell you that until month end. So follow up in first week of Dec.

I started interviewing early Oct with a company that reached out via recruiter. The hiring manager was very straight forward with me that I was his top candidate and I was told all other interviews were very positive incl CMO. The recruiter said they'd be making an offer but it's now been three weeks. Anyone else had the process drag on like this? Meanwhile I'm taking other interviews and was offered a promotion at current company, but was very interested in this one. What would you do?

Hi Folks - Does anyone have insights on the interview structure for consultant level (summer internship) in London?

I am a 3rd year senior associate in alternative investment tax and up for manager promotion this year. I really dislike the long hours of this job and seeking to make a move. Although I’m not sure i necessarily want to stay in tax. I have a young toddler at home and want to find a job i like, makes decent money, and has decent hours so i can spend more time with family.

Has anyone been in a similar position and made a move? Can you please share your experience? Thanks!

Hi everyone, I have a quick question that’s kind of silly. I work at a pretty small company leading marketing. My title is technically Marketing Lead but I want to put Head of Marketing on my LinkedIn etc. I think of these titles as totally interchangeable—I just like the way the second one reads better. I know titles don’t really matter, but I’m battling a little bit of imposter syndrome.

What does everyone else think?

Additional Posts in In-House Counsel

Considering joining a small 50-person company as the only attorney (prior attorney is retiring). (I am currently in-house at a F50). For others who have done the same path, what surprises did you have when moving from a large company to a small one?

For example, it sounds like I should not expect a document management system, based on a prior post in this bowl. I’m guessing expenses like state bar fees and cell phone are not reimbursed.

Any advice on things to expect (or not expect)?
